Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, 04 August 2010: Central government has decided to call a High level meeting to discuss banning of the radical group, Popular Front of India (PFI) in the State, says the report. The banning of the radical group became a hot topic of discussion following the attack on Newman College Lecturer, and its consequences in the form of raids and searches conducted in its PFI centers, which revealed many dissident activities of the group.
It was also reported that the high officials including Home Secreatry G.K Pillai would also take part in the meeting.The discussion would take place either towards the last of this month or n the beginning of October.
Earlier it was reported that a meeting on the same would be held in the beginning of August, which has been postponed due to the chaos prevailing at Kashmir and its issues.However, the meeting would discuss not only the ban but also increased terrorist activities in the State, says report.
Sttae Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had already made it clear that a decision on banning PFI should be taken by the Centre.
