Kasargod, Friday, 18 June 2010: The fugitive from Kannur Central prison, T.H Riyaz, who has been nabbed yesterday from here would be presented before the Kasargod Judicial First Class Magistrate Court today.
Kasargod SP P.Prakash had informed that he had been caught on his way to escape to Mangalore. The fugitive had been under the observation of the police since two days. A mobile had been recovered from Riyaz. However, the police sources refused to divulge m ore details.
Jayanandan, accomplice of Riyaz and another fugitive, who has been earlier caught by the police, was remanded to custody later. The team headed by Kannur town Circle Inspector Sadanandhan had nabbed him from Ootty.

The police have on Tuesday issued a lookout notice for the two culprits who escaped form Kannur Central prison. One a convicted murderer in 7 cases and accused in 17 cases, Ripper Jayanandan (Thrissur) and the other an accused in 39 theft cases, Riyaz hailing from Kasargode.
Jail ADGP Alexander Jacob on Tuesday visited the Central prison here, from where two inmates had escaped on Monday, so as to evaluate the development in the probe. He would hold a discussion with the officials there and would check the matters including how the CCTV system had gone non-functioning at that time of escape. Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had ordered ADGP Alexander Jacob to submit a report over the prison break incident. Five employees including the Deputy Jailer have been suspended in connection with the escape of two inmates from Central prison, here. Two Head Wardens and two Wardens included in the suspended list. A special team headed by North Range Jail DIG Joseph Thomas would probe into the incident. The culprits who had fled from the prison are at large now and the police are after them..
