Probe begins on phone call claim

Thiruvananthapuram, Saturday, June 06, 2009: As part of its investigation on the phone call claim made by Sukumar Azhikode, the police today quizzed Sukumar Azhikode at his residence. After the direction from Home Minister himself District Police Superintendent reached the writers residence to collect evidence.

However, the High tech cell will also conduct a simultaneous probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, posters abusing the writer for his statements against Chief Minister appeared at press club road, Thiruvananthapuram.

Yesterday, Sukumar Azhikode had claimed that he had received a phone call from Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan whom according to Azhikode, requested to end the war of words and wanted to sort out the differences, but Chief Minister’s office had issued a statement denying the claim of Azhikode that the Chief Minister had spoken to him over telephone. But Azhikode remained firm on his statement.
