Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday 20 April 2010: The DYFI State secretariat has sought an investigation into the sources of income of the former Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor.
In a statement here, DYFI State secretariat called upon the Union government to get Tharoor’s sources of income investigated by a government agency since there was every reason to bring to light how he had become the master of ceremonies for a deal that won for the Rendezvous consortium the IPL Kochi franchise for Rs. 1,533 crore.
The asset that he had declared at the time of elections was only Rs.22 crore.
Although this was quite high when viewed against the general income levels, this was not sufficient for him to even take a serious look at the IPL stakes. All this called for a probe so that the serious irregularities involved in the deal could be brought out.
