Kollam, Wednesday, August 18, 2010: The prohibitory order that was declared at Anwarsseri following PDP Chairman Abdul Nazar Maudani’s arrest, has been revoked today. The Kollam District Collector had imposed a prohibitory order in Anwarsseri and nearby places on 14 August 2010.

A large battalion of police was also deployed in the areas. The prohibitory order was declared under the IPC section 144 at Sasthamkota and Mainagapally panchayats of Anwarsseri.

The Karnataka police team had yesterday arrested PDP Chairman Abdul Nazer Maudani from his camp at 1.15 pm, while he was about to enter his ambulance and proceed to the Karunagapally to surrender before the Magistrate Court there. Though a group of PDP leaders raised slogans against the police and moved closer to the ambulance, they were quickly dispersed.
