Kochi, Tuesday 13 Wednesday 2010: The revival of public sector undertakings in the State has been marked by significant increase in employment in these undertakings.

Industries Minister Elamaram Karim told reporters at a press conference here that PSUs created nearly 6,000 jobs since 2006-07. Karim said that the PSUs have been able to make the current profits without any retrenchment and the new appointments included those at the high-end engineering levels.

New recruitments will continue in the new financial year too as the government has drawn up plans for major expansion and capacity expansion at the existing units, the Minister said.
