Idukki, Saturday, January 15, 2011: Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan today said that one day holiday and three day mourning has been declared in State in connection with the tragedy that struck Sabarimala Pilgrims at Pullumedu in Idukki. The Chief Minister asked the District Collector to give detailed report on the tragedy.

Speaking to the mediapersons, VS said that essential compensation will be given to the next of kin of those killed in the stampede and will be decided in the next Cabinet meeting. He also added that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh spoke to him about the tragedy.
