Pathanamthitta, Friday 22 January 2009: The Sabarimala Ayyappa temple recorded a total revenue Rs.128.48 crore during the just-concluded Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrim season as against Rs.113.23 crore last season, according to Travancore Devaswom Board sources at the Sannidhanam.

The sale of ‘aravana’ fetched revenue of Rs.53.83 crore, which was Rs.47.77 crore last year.

The ‘hundi’ collection during the two-month pilgrim season was Rs.51.04 crore against Rs.43.93 crore last year and the sale of appam fetched Rs.10.27 crore.

There was heavy rush at the Sannidhanam this season.
