Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, November 25, 2009: Pinning hopes on returning to Congress, K Muralidharan today held discussions with UDF leader Oommen Chandy and KPCC Chief Ramesh Chennithala at leader of opposition’s official residence cantonment house here.
Though the meeting lasted half an hour, the details of the meeting are not known immediately. But it is expected that, the meeting comes against the backdrop of Congress leadership advising Muralidharan to seek the opinion and consent of regional Congress leadership regarding re admitting him.
K. Muralidharan, the son of former Kerala chief minister K. Karunakaran, had met Congress leaders, including party general secretary in charge of Kerala Mohsina Kidwai and Defence Minister A.K. Antony in the national capital to push his case for re-entry into the party, but AICC general secretary Mohsina Kidwai advised him, even though the party high command is the deciding authority on whom to take, the state leadership will be taken into confidence before a decision is taken to admit anyone into the party,” it is in this wake the meeting was held today
