Palakkad, Saturday, January 28, 2012: The renowned Malampuzha Garden reconstructed at a cost of Rs 21.57 crore will be opened to public by Minister for Water Resources on February 3.
The inaugural function will be presided over by Malampuzha MLA and Leader of Opposition VS Achuthanandan. The renovation work was taken up for giving a facelift to the prestigious Garden, a miniature of the world famous Mughal Garden.
The Garden built during the 1960s and 1970s in the Mughal Garden style was reconstructed to meet the modern taste of tourists. The Japanese Park, Nandi Park, Malampuzha Yakshi, Krishna Park and music fountains attracted tourists.
A number of foreign tourists also visit Malampuzha Garden and the Reservoir, the biggest irrigation Dam in the State, to enjoy the picturesque view of this unique place that falls on the lap of Western Ghats.
