Kochi, Friday, November 18, 2011: The Kerala High Court today sought the state government’s view on a petition seeking monitoring by the police chief into the suspicious death of Indu, a research scholar of the National Institute of Technology at Kozhikode on April 24.
When the petition filed by the woman’s father came up before Justice N K Balakrishnan, he sought the state’s stand and posted the case to November 30.
The research scholar was found missing from the train while she was travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhikode. Later her body was fished out from Periyar river in Aluva, a Kochi suburb.
Petitioner Krishnan Nair contended that the present investigation team was not adequately equipped to find out the actual cause of her death as it was not guided or monitored by a competent team. The crime branch is now investigating the case.
