Kollam, Wednesday 24 February 2010: The stage has been set at Asramam Maidan here for Wednesday’s Pranta Sanghik (State assembly) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Over one lakh ‘swayamsevaks’ in uniform will attend the assembly. RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat will address the assembly which will commence at 5 p.m.
The dais for the event is erected at a height of 36 feet and can seat 200 persons. The assembly venue comprises 35 acres of the maidan. Some of the portraits painted on the dais are those of Pazhassi Raja, Velu Thampi Dalawa, Sree Narayana Guru, Adi Sankara and Chatrapati Shivaji.
In addition to the ‘swayamsevaks’ in uniform, another 50,000 RSS sympathisers from the districts of Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam will also attend the programme. Over 4,000 vehicles will bring them to the venue from different parts of the State.
The ‘swayamsevaks’ have started arriving here from Tuesday itself for taking part in the assembly. Region-wise seating has been set up inside the assembly venue for the ‘swayamsevaks.’ Seven regions have been created for the purpose.
