Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, September 24, 2010: Senior Congress leader K Karunakaran today came down heavily on the State leadership in connection with the selection of candidates for the upcoming local body polls. Karunakaran said that the leadership failed to seek the opinions of senior leaders including him during the selection of candidates. The selection of candidates was decided by two or three leaders of the party.

He said, the UDF can win the polls easily in the state, but their irresponsible attitude may lead to failure. If such a thing happens, then the KPCC should be blamed for it. Karunakaran also said the leadership did not even consider AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s directions to provide 50 % seats to youths.
