‘Shortage of two lakh students in govt-aided schools’   ‘Shortage

Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday 04 July 2010: The figures after head counting of students in the government aided schools provide an alarming picture. A shortage of nearly two lakh students has been reported according to the statics obtained from 11 districts.

Hints are that future of nearly 33,000 teachers would be at stake following this deep shortage. Head counting has been completed in all except 41 schools in the state.

The head counting was conducted on Monday. Different organizations of teachers had expressed their strong displeasure against the move as the counting was conducted after three holidays. The government went ahead with the counting
