Thiruvananthapuram, Saturday, December 17, 2011: The 79th annual Sivagiri pilgrimage, paying tributes to the contributions of spiritual leader and social reformer Sree Narayana Guru, would begin at Sivagiri Mutt near Varkkala on December 30.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy would inaugurate the pilgrimage programmes at a function at the mutt on December 30, said Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust president Swami Prakasanda

Union minister for corporate affairs Veerappa Moily would inaugurate the pilgrimage on December 31. Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, and Union minister K C Venugopal would also be present on the occasion.
