Smart City: Govt to serve notice to TECOM

Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday 02 September 2010: The State cabinet on Thursday decided to serve a notice to TECOM in connection with the Smart City project.

In the notice, the government will inform their unwillingness to accede to the demand of TECOM wanting 12 % freehold land. If a reply is not received within 10 days, the government will consider that TECOM has withdrawn from the project.

The cabinet also approved the package formulated for rehabilitating those losing land at the time of acquisition over the development of national highways. 17,922 acres of land in Munnar will be announced as forestland.

The cabinet also decided to file a review plea against the Supreme Court verdict for scrapping ration benefits for APL category. The government will also express their dissatisfaction to the centre.
