Kochi, Friday, February 11, 2011: The Kochi CBI special Court will consider the SNC lavalin case today. The CBI is likely to submit a report on further reinvestigation in connection with the case.
The CBI had already submitted a charge sheet in connection with the case in which CPM State Secretary, Pinarayi Vijayan is the 7th accused. The Court has earlier directed CBI to submit a report whether former Electricity Minister G Karthikeyan had been involved in the case.
Earlier, the division bench of the Supreme Court consisting of Justices R V Raveendran and A K Patnaik withdrew from hearing the argument in the Lavalin case. A new bench will hear the argument and reason for the withdrawal is not known.
The bench was considering the plea filed by CPM State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan questioning the directive of Kerala Governor to prosecute Pinarayi in connection with the case.
