Kochi, Sunday, August 01, 2010: CPM State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan today told that he would remain firm on his previous stance regarding the SNC Lavalin case. Speaking to the reporters in Kochi, Pinarayi complained that the medias were trying to boost up the issue.
Power Division Business Director of SNC Lavalin Company, Dileep Rahulan had yesterday given evidence to CBI court explaining that the decision to appoint Technicalia as a consultancy in SNC Lavalin power deal was taken at a high level meeting attended by Pinarayi Vijayan, Secretary (Power) Government of Kerala and Lavalin President.
SNC-Lavalin power scandal is one of the biggest financial scams that in India. According the report by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India a CPI (M)-led government of the mid-1990s for a Rs 374.50 crore loss to the exchequer. Former power minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been figured in the 7th accused by charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
