Thiruvananthapuram, Friday 3 May 2011: South-west monsoon has been vigorous over Kerala. Rain occurred at most places in Lakshadweep.
According to meteorology sources here, heavy to very heavy rainfall in cm are Vadakara 17, Piravom 16,Kozlandy 14, Kunnamkulam, Taleparambu 13 .CIAL Kochi 12,Kannur & Irikkur11,Iringalakkuda 10,Mannarkadu,Manjari,Nilambour Vadakkancherry, Vaikkom, Vythiri 9 each. Other chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are Aluva, Agadippuram, Chalakudy, Hosdurg, Kozha, Peerumadu & Talacherry 8 each. CIAL Kochi,Kozhikode,Parumthalmanna 7 each.
Another 40 station reported a rainfall of one cm to 6 cm. Forcast valid until the morning of 5th June. Rain or thunder showers will occur at many places in Kerala and Lakshadweep.
Heavy rainfall warning: isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall will occur in Kerala and isolated heavy rainfall will occur in Lakshadweep during next 48 hours. Fishermen warning: Squally weather with wind speed reaching 45-55 KMPH is likely along at Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep area during next 24 hours.
