Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday, October 23, 2011: South-west monsoon has been weak over Kerala. Rain occurred at many places in Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Kerala.
The chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are – Kottayam 5, Konni (Pathanamthitta district) 4, Alathur (Palakkad district) 2 and Kavaratti (Lakshadweep), Nedumangad (Thiruvananthapuram district) & Thiruvalla (Pathanamthitta district) 1 each.
Maximum temperature was appreciably above normal in Kollam district. Kannur & Karipur AP recorded the highest maximum temperature of 310C and & Kottayam recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 220C.
Rain/ thundershower will occur at many places in Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated heavy rainfall will occur in Kerala during next 48 hours.
Generally cloudy sky with a few spells of shower/thundershower. No significant change is expected in maximum & minimum temperatures which will be around 320C & 240C respectively.
