Kottayam, Wednesday, February 08, 2012: The Corporation health squad seized stale food from a number of hotels and restaurants in Nattakam area in Kottayam in an inspection conducted on Wednesday.

The food materials were confiscated and subsequently destroyed. Notices have been issued to the owners of these twelve hotels and a cool bar.

The raid was conducted following outbreak of jaundice and other contagious diseases in the Nattakam area. The inspection was conducted under the monitoring of health squad officials- TS Rathyamma, Somasundaram, Sunil and Scharia.
