New Delhi, Wednesday, February 03, 2010: Nurses of Mata Channan Devi Hospital in Janakpuri who were holding protest demonstration before the hospital premises were assaulted by police.

The nurses’ organizations who are on a war path demanding better pay packages and other benefits had called for strike after talks with hospital authorities failed on Monday.

Last month thousands of nurses working in various hospitals in New Delhi had announced indefinite strike in the capital.
