Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, February 03, 2012: Amid the raging poster controversy in Kannur, K Sudhakaran MP was today given a rousing reception by the Congress (I) group activists before the KPCC headquarters here on Friday morning.
K Sudhakaran, who came to attend the KPCC executive meeting here, was accorded a rousing reception by his followers raising slogans hailing him. The activists also had erected several posters and flux boards voicing support to Sudhakaran.
Sudhakaran had hit out at Chandy for supporting the action of Kannur DSP who had removed a flex board hailing Sudhakaran for sanctioning some funds for development works for police quarters, put up by Kerala Police Association at Kannur recently.
Sudhakaran had stated that removal of the board was an insult to him and Chief Minister had the responsibility to protect the rights and interests of elected representatives.
The outburst of congress leaders on the ‘poster row’ was widely seen as resurfacing of faction feud in congress between supporters of Chandy and his opponents.
Justifying action against police personnel who put up boards hailing Sudhakaran, Chandy said it was in violation of service rules. The government had suspended six police personnel in Kannur in connection with the poster row.
