Kochi, Friday 25 December 2009: Sufiya Maudani, wife of PDP leader Abdul Nasser Maudani and 10th accused in the 2005 Tamil Nadu bus burning case, was shifted from Alappuzha Medical College Hospital to a private hospital here.

Sufiya, who was under treatment for various health problems in the medical college hospital, was brought to Lakeshore Hospital at around 9 pm, hospital sources said.

Ernakulam Sessions Court on Wednsday granted her conditional bail. The court had directed her not to leave Ernakulam district and appear before investigating officials as and when required.

She was arrested on December 17 after the Kerala High Court dismissed her anticipatory bail application in connection with the case. Later she was remanded to 14 days judicial custody and was lodged at the Ernakulam sub-jail.

However, on her complaints of ill health, Sufiya was shifted to the medical college hospital on December 20.
