Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, May 06, 2011: CPM State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan today opined that the NSS acting General secretary G Sukumaran Nair must withdraw his “unsavoury” comments directed at Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan. “The words and expressions used by the Society’s Secretary against Achuthanandan were quite unbecoming of Kerala culture and its tradition of healthy debate,” Pinarayi said.

He was reacting to the comments of G Sukumaran Nair that Achuthanandan was a leader who did not believe in democracy and often defied his own party to carry on with his autocratic ways.

In an article written in Deshabhimani daily, Pinarayi said the services of John Brittas cannot be forgotten even though he has joined Murdoch’s channel. He left the party channel stating that he is joining a national channel. It is his personal decision and nobody can stop him, Pinarayi commented.
