Thachankary submits list of officials before CAT

Kochi, Thursday, April 22, 2010: Tomin. J Thachankary has submitted a sub appeal in the Central Administrative Tribunal detailing the list of six higher officials including IAS and IPS officers, who had made foreign trips without the consent of the Government. Thachankary had already submitted an appeal in the Central Administrative Tribunal questioning government’s decision of suspending him from the post of Kannur range IG.

Thachankary alleges that the State government has not taken any decision against those officials who have made foreign trips without government’s consent. Thachankery has submitted the list of officials including IAS officers- P.C Sanal Kumar, Jaya Thilak, Ishitha Roy and IPS officers- R. Sreelekha, T. Vikram, Jayaprakash.

The details are R. Sreelekha had made trips to Thailand on May 4th while she was the Rubber Marketing MD, although she had gone for an official trip she had made the trip without government’s consent. Sreelekha had spend Rupees 67, 349 for her trip and she had pleaded for the government’s pardon and thus avoided any stringent action from the government. P.C Sanal Kumar had also made trips to America and no action was taken against him.

Central Administrative Tribunal would hear Thachankary’s plea questioning the government’s action of removing him from the post if Kannur range IG.
