Thamarassery, Friday, May 27, 2011: One motorcyclist was killed after being run over by a tipper lorry near Thamarassery on Friday, police told. The pillion rider has been admitted to the Kozhikode Medical college hospital with severe injuries.

The mishap occurred this morning when a lorry rammed into the rear of the bike in which they were traveling. Both were thrown off from the bike and were run over by another tipper coming in opposite direction. The bike was completely destroyed in the collsion.

The infuriated locals destroyed the lorry which had claimed the life of the motorcyclist. The traffic in this route was disrupted for several hours.
