Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, October 26, 2011: Thiruvananthapuram city corporation is taking steps to ensure that educational institutions in city limits are maintained as tobacco-free campuses.
Mayor K Chandrika inaugurated the tobacco-free capital city programme yesterday in collaboration with Department of Health and Voluntary Agencies, a press release here said today. Civic officials would examine licence of all shops within a 100-yard radius of schools and colleges.
The corporation would cancel the trade licence of shops found selling tobacco products, she said.
