Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, July 31, 2009: After the fourty seven day ban on annual trawling in the state, the seashores of Kerala, especially the Shakthikulangara- Neendakara twin fishing harbours were buzzing with activities as fishermen started bringing in their nets and other gadgets to the harbour halls, expecting a good catch in the coming days.
In Kochi alone around thousand boats are all set to plunge into the sea
The state had enforced an annual trawling ban in the sea up to 12 nautical miles from the coast for 47 days, which began on June 16.
The longest annual trawling ban, for 62 days, was in force in the year 2006.
