Harda,Wednesday, March 03, 2010: A tribal woman was allegedly stoned to death by three persons after she was caught stealing food grain from a field at a village near here today, police said.

The owner of the field identified as Bhadur Singh, his wife and one Sanjay - all belonging to nomadic Pardi tribe caught Sunda Bai (50) stealing crop and stoned her to death in Jhiri, SP Ravindra Singh Uike said.

The accused fled from the scene leaving behind Sunda, whose body was later taken to the district hospital for post mortem.

A case under section 302 has been registered against the three accused and a hunt has been launched to arrest them, Uike said.
