Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, February 01, 2012: Excise preventive officer I.P.K. Rajan has been arrested by the special investigation team probing the Menamkulam spirit smuggling case.

A truck used to smuggle spirit from Tamil Nadu was found at Menamkulam in 2010 and the Rajan was made an accused in the case. The investigation pointed out the involvement of the excise officer in the spirit smuggling case.

The probe team had also chargesheeted him as an accused in the case but the investigation came to a stand still due to the high-level intervention.
