Kollam, Sunday, August 15, 2010: A seven-year-old boy has gone missing in the sea near Beemapally in Thiruvananthapuram district today. Haris son of Seithali and Fathima was playing at his residence when the accident occurred.

Haris was swept away in the strong ocean current; the police and the fire force officials reached the spot and started the search operations but gave up due to the rough sea conditions. The meteorological department has noticed a sudden change of sea conditions in between the capital city and Alappuzha.

A water spout was witnessed on the coastal areas in between the capital city and Alappuzha. Unconfirmed reports said one person died after a boat capsized after formation of darkness in the sea. The fishermen who went fishing in the sea informed the authorities about the waterspout. Along with darkness, big waves too formed in the sea.
