Kochi, Saturday, February 20, 2010: The UDF councillors of the Kochi Corporation will stage a ‘dharna’ in front of the corporation office against the “mismanagement and financial loss the civic body has sustained at Brahmapuram solid waste treatment plant.”

The dharna will be held on February 24 as part of the decision to take the campaign to the masses. The decision was taken at a meeting of the UDF councillors and the district leaders of the front, which was held yesterday.

The front will organise a convention of its leaders at a later date for charting out an extensive campaign against the “misrule” in the civic body, A.B. Sabu, the UDF leader in the Kochi Corporation Council said.

The UDF delegation registered its protest at an all-party meeting held on Friday against the curtailing of council proceedings by the Mayor when faced with opposition and clearing the council agenda without discussion, he said.
