Uproar over PSC scam; House adjourned for the day  

Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday, December 21, 2010: The 16th session of Assembly on Tuesday was adjourned for the day, following uproar over the PSC recruitment scam in which two persons obtained jobs in the Revenue department in Wayanad by producing forged documents and fake memos. The Congress MLA Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan had given notice for an adjournment motion over the PSC recruitment scam.

Thiruvanchoor demanded the State Revenue Minister KP Rajendran to step down and that a judicial probe must be conducted in the PSC job scam in Wayanad. Replying to this stated that there was no relevance for an adjournment motion and opined that the opposition was trying to tarnish the government by raising unnecessary allegations.

The Kerala assembly also witnessed noisy scenes over the PSC recruitment scam in which two persons obtained jobs in the Revenue department in Wayanad by producing forged documents and fake memos. and State Home minister engaged in a heated debate over the PSC job scam issue.

Chandy alleged that it was a serious lapse on the part of the government since police verification was not done during the time of the fake appointments. Kodiyeri replied that the government would probe the matter seriously and would produce the details regarding the investigation.

Replying to another question raised by the opposition, informed the Kerala assembly that verification by PSC (Public Service Commission) too has been made compulsory along with the police verification for appointment in government jobs.
He was answering to questions raised during question hour.

“Demanding the resignation of the CM would only make things more complex. The government has taken all measures to make sure that nothing wrong happens regarding PSC appointments in future” Achuthanandan said.
