Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday, June 23, 2009: The crucial Polit Bureau meeting held in New Delhi earlier this week has finally found success in reining the Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan’s words, which sometimes has put the whole party into embarrassing moments, Speaking in the Assembly today Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan backed his Ministers and said, the Ministers have done nothing wrong in challenging Governor RS Gawai’s decision to give consent to the prosecution proceedings of Pinarayi Vijayan.
The Ministers have only conveyed their democratic needs and that does not mean they should resign from the Ministry.
Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan was replying to the harsh criticisms of opposition that the ministry has lost its united responsibility and Chief Minister and his Ministers are issuing conflicting statements on the SNC issue.
VS Achuthanandan on had earlier said that there was nothing surprising in the governor’s decision to sanction the prosecution of party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.
His open revolt against the party central leadership, which has said the governor’s decision was unfortunate, often deepened the crisis in the party.
