Kochi, Monday 27 July 2009: The World Malayalee Council’s two-day third international youth festival will be opened by Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi here on July 31.
The festival will act as a venue for the younger generations of non-resident Keralites from across the globe to meet and exchange ideas as well as to put on show their talents, the organisers said.
Talented youths from the U.S., Europe, Africa, Australia, Singapore and the Gulf, in the three age categories of 10-14, 15-19 and 20-25, will compete in a variety of items such as elocution (Malayalam), light music (Malayalam), recitation, mono act, classical music, mimicry, Bharathanatyam and Mohiniyattam. Individuals and recognised organisations in India and abroad can register with the WMC.
