Idukki, Monday, March 08, 2010: Recommending the government to amend the KDH act of 1971 and the land board contract of 1974, the survey vigilance officer Biju Prabhakar handed over his report to government today, the report which gives Tata a clean chit says, Tata must be consulted before taking future actions here.
The report also says a fresh survey of the land is needed and there was no evidence to prove that, the boundary at KDH village was tampered.
The government had constituted a special team led by Vigilance Officer of the Survey Department Biju Prabhakar for a “comprehensive enquiry’ into the continuing encroachments at Munnar and other parts of Idukki district. Biju Prabhakar is the fourth officer probing the encroachments over the past six years.
The appointment of the fourth enquiry team had come in the wake of stringent remarks by the Kerala High Court against the government’s failure to check the encroachments and directive to initiate action against the encroachers.
