Vizhinjam prjct to be completed in time-bound manner   Vizhinjam

Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday, August 03, 2010: V. Surendran Pillai, the new minister for Ports and Youth Affairs and today told that the work on Vizhinjam project would be completed within the specified tenure. Surendran Pillai was speaking to the reporters after he was sworn-in as the twentieth Minister in V.S Achuthanandan’s cabinet.

Pillai added that he would give primary importance to the Vizhinjam Container Transhipment Terminal project. The oath-taking ceremony took place in ‘Raj Bhavan’ at around morning 11.30, where Governor R.S Gavai administered the oath of office and secrecy. Pillai sworn-in in the name of God.

Chief Minister V.S Achuthanandan handed over to Governor, the official letter assigning Pillai the Youth Affairs and ports portfolios. Pillai, the lone legislature of KC (T) after a discussion with the CM, arrived here in the venue of oath with his family.

It was the last CPM state Committee meeting held here last week, which decided to give Surendran Pillai MLA of the West constituency, here, the ministerial Berth.
