Allegations against Abdullakutty;Opp stages walkout   Allegations

Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday 06 July 2010: The opposition on Tuesday staged a walk out in the assembly to protest against the statement by over allegations raised by M Chandran MLA against Abdullakutty.

Abdullakutty raised the issue by a submission and demanded an apology from Chandran. He refuted allegations that he was caught along with women near Vithura and clarified that he had sought police protection, after being obstructed by hartal supporters.

Chandran however stood firm on his allegation and stated that Abdullakutty was along with a women and there is no need for an apology, since he had not done anything wrong. Abdullakutty alleged CPM of trying to destroy him and reminded his old friends that they are destroying the reputation of a family in the process.

Intervening in the discussion, demanded an explanation from the Home Minister. informed that Abdullakutty was traveling in a car, followed by a businessman and his wife in another car.

The MLA had sought police help, following obstruction and had declined police protection to proceed to Ponmudi. Kodiyeri, who holds the tourism portfolio also added that three rooms were booked at Ponmudi.

The Minister clarified that locals in the area had suspicion that Abdullakutty had accompanied the woman. He added that the Congress MLA had avoided his gunman, while proceeding to Ponmudi.

Oommen Chandy, then alleged CPM of targeting Abdullakutty and tarnishing the personal life of another family for silly political gains. , assured to take appropriate action after hearing the viewpoints of both Abdullah Kutty and M Chandran
