Kalpetta, Wednesday, 08 February 2012: The Thamarassery ghat pass road would be opened for traffic after repair on Friday.

The repair works of 6 hairpin curves, which were in a dilapidated condition, were completed. The new road is being constructed with 60 cm thickness and the road has been widened at each hair pin curve. It will ease the traffic at the hairpin curves.

Container lorries would be banned for the next one month, said Collector PB Salim during the meeting held at the collectorate conference hall with official and political party representatives.

A ban should be imposed on container lorries with more than 25 metric tones weight. On a trial basis the ban would be for one month.
