Kolkata, Saturday 9 May 2009: CPM general secretary Prakash Karat on Saturday softened his stand and said his party will take a decision on supporting the Congress-led government after May 16.

“Let the elections be over first. Let the results come. After May 16 we will think,” Karat told reporters during a brief meet at airport here.

Karat, who was here to campaign for CPM candidates, was specifically asked to comment on Congress courting support of the Left.

He had previously declined to support any Congress-led government.
