Thiruvananthapuram, Monday, February 6, 2012: A youth, who tried to commit suicide along with his wife, drowned. The youth identified as AK Rajesh (34) of Kunnukuzhy, in an inebriated condition, dragged his wife into the car, drove the vehicle into a pond.

The woman somehow escaped, ran and informed the inmates of a church nearby. Rajesh, who came drunk last night had a fight with his wife and in a fit of rage, dragged her into the car and tried to commit suicide with his wife.

By the time they came, Rajesh had drowned. The couple has two minor children.
