Thereafter, Shahid Afridi came to the crease and played his part before getting out for a well-made 13-ball 24 that put Pakistan on top.
Pakistan captain Younis Khan could not sustain for long and got out but Kamran Akmal held on to his wicket at the other end and played his shots well.
In the process Akmal also completed his half-century and helped Pakistan take an upper hand against Ireland.
Pakistan captain Younus Khan is expecting that his side would beat Ireland and book their place in the semi-finals of the ICC World T20.
