Port Louis
The capital city and chief port of Mauritius, Port Louis was constructed in the year 1735 by the noted French governor, Mahe de Labourdonnais. This harbor is located between mountains which make it worth watching. Along the square there are ample numbers of French styled buildings, which enhances the charm of this tourist attraction in Mauritius. Municipal Theatre, two churches, one mosque, Government house, Supreme Court and so forth are some of them.
Black River George
This is a national park stretching as area of 6,574 hectares. It was construction in order to save the natural vegetation of the island and make it one of the most important Mauritius sightseeing. One can walk along the greenery and reach the highest point of the island, Black River Peak as well.
Grand Bay
Grand Baie, (or Grand Bay) is a village and large tourist beach in the district of Pamplemousses on the island of Mauritius. The village is on the western side of the northernmost point of Mauritius and was the site of the Britiish Invasion of Île de France in November 1810. Grand Baie owes its popularity to the enchanting quality of its emerald waters and to its liveliness by day or by night. It offers facilities for safe swimming, sailing, windsurfing, and water skiing. Grand Baie also hosts a variety of fashion and craft shops, hotels, restaurants, and night-clubs such as Buddah Club, Les Enfants Terrible, Banana Cafe, GodFather amongst others. It is the departure point for helicopter excursions,and it provides facilities for deep sea angling and for boat excursions to the islands to the north of Mauritius: Gunners’ Quoin, Flat Island, Round Island, and Serpent Island.
Le Morne Cultural Landscape
Le Morne Cultural Landscape is one of the newest sites on the Unesco World Heritage List (as of 2008). It mainly consists of a rugged mountain on the edge of the Indian Ocean in the
southwest of Mauritius. It was used as a shelter by runaway slaves through the 18th and early years of the 19th centuries. Here, they wre protected by the mountain’s isolated,wooded and almost inaccessible cliffs. The slaves formed small settlements in the caves and on the summit of Le Morne. Mauritius unfortunately was an important stopover in the eastern slave trade and also became known as the “Maroon republic” because of the large number of escaped slaves who lived in Le Morne.
Climate
Tropical, modified by southeast trade winds; warm, dry winter (May to November); hot, wet, humid summer (November to May); Natural hazards : Tropical cyclones (November to April);but most cyclones usually occur from the end of December until March. Mauritius has only two seasons, winter and summer. There is not much temperature differences between the two seasons of the year. The climate on the central plateau is cooler than on the coastal areas. The West coast is much wetter and more humid than the East coast.

For foreign tourists, this is the best and the most viable option for reaching Mauritius. Many international airlines, including well known carriers like Aeroflot, Air Mauritius, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, and South African Airways, provide air access to Mauritius from major international airports. Sir Seewoosagar Ramgoolam Air Terminal is the international airport in Mauritius. It is situated approximately 3 kms from Mahebourg, and 48kms from Port Louis.
