Nedumangad is a city and a municipality in Thiruvananthapuram district in Kerala state of Kerala. It is one of four taluks in the district. It is located around 20 km to the north-east of Thiruvananthapuram city.

Bonacaud

Bonacaud is the base station of the famous peak, Agasthyarkoodam in the Agasthya hills. The Agasthya hill range is famous for its abundance of rare herbs and medicinal plants.There is a tea estate in Bonacaud, established by Britishers. The hill resort Ponmudi is near to Bonacaud.
The place is located 25 km from Nedumangadu.
koyikkal palace

The Koyikkal Palace, situated 1km from the Nedumangadu town, was actually built for Umayamma Rani of the Venad royal family who ruled the land between 1677 and 1684. The palace is a double stroreyed traditional nalukettu with slanting gabled roofs and an inner courtyard. Today, the palace houses a Folklore Museum and a Numismatics Museum set up by the Department of Archaeology.
Kallar
About 40 km from Nedumangad Town, on the road to Ponmudi,Kallar is famous for round-shaped boulders and pebble, is situated en route to the popular hill station of Ponmudi. The place gets its name from the River Kallar, which flows through the region. Kallu means ’stone’ and Aru means ‘river,’. It is a favourite haunt for picnickers and attracts many with an interest in trekking, angling and bird watching. The main attractions are the nearby Golden Valley, and the Meenmutti waterfalls. Unlike the Meenmutti waterfall, the Golden Valley is easily accessible form the main road. Here one can take a dip in the crystal clear waters to cool off, and also watch the many rapids and small pools that dot a good part of the river in this area. Apart from Golden Valley, those with zeal for trekking and bird watching can take the narrow track, starting from the right from the side of the Kallar Bridge. The track will lead one to a medium sized, but captivating waterfall, popularly known as Meenmutty. The waterfall is situated 3-4 kms from the main road. On the way to the waterfall, one could come across ample bird life, and many species of butterflies. The forest here is mostly tropical in nature, and during the rainy season, one has to be on the alert for leeches.
Thirichittoor Rock

Thirichittoor Rock (or Thirichitta Paara) is a large rock located three kilometres north of Nedumangad.It is written in the Ramayana that Hanuman returned the rock after Sethubandan. “Thirichitta” in the Malayalam language means return or turn.The rock is a tourist spot, and those who climb it can enjoy views of the town of Nedumangad and the city of Trivandrum, and visit two temples which have been built on top of the rock. The temples are dedicated to Hanuman and a Siva & Vishnu and conduct daily rituals.
Meenmutty Falls

Meenmutty Falls is located 30 km from Nedumangadu in Thiruvananthapuram District. This waterfalls is located near the Neyyar reservoir area. No transportation is available to the falls. The visitor has to trek through the dense forests to reach the falls. The Kombaikani waterfalls is also near to Meenmutti. It is 2 km upstream the Meenmutti falls. This waterfalls is on the trek path to Agastyakoodam. There is a forest rest house near the falls. To visit the falls permission from the forest department is required. A guide is sent along with you to the falls.

The city has a tropical climate and therefore does not experience distinct seasons. The mean maximum temperature 34 °C and the mean minimum temperature is 21 °C.December, january and February are the coldest months while March, April and May are the hottest.
