It was through their movies that Suresh Gopi earned the title of “The angry young man of Malayalam cinema”. Renji’s entry into filmdom was accidental. It was an interview of director Shaji Kailas done for a film magazine that caused the entry of Renji in films. Shaji Kailas, who was also a beginner, asked Renji to write a script. The result was Dr. Pashupathy, a political satire, which turned into a super hit. The film was produced without any commercially viable stars and filled theaters for months .
