Most eyebrows need shaping. Whether you wax, tweeze or draw them on, it’s important to aim for a natural look. Eyebrows frame the eyes, give the face balance and bring attention to facial features. Create a natural shape shaping your eyebrows to look your best
Determine where a natural-looking eyebrow begins. Use a straight edge such as a ruler, pencil or piece of paper. Place the straight edge against the left nostril. Locate where the straight edge meets the eyebrow. That is where the eyebrow begins.
Remove any hair that falls in front of the straight edge with tweezers or wax. This gives the eyebrows a natural shape. Repeat the process on the right eyebrow.
Locate the brow’s natural arch. Rest the straight edge against the left nostril. Angle the edge toward the outer portion of the iris, or the colored part of the eye. Find where the straight edge and eyebrow meet. That is the highest part of the brow’s arch.
Shape the eyebrows. Tweeze or wax hair underneath the eyebrow’s arch. Go slowly so you don’t make the eyebrows too thin. Repeat the process for the right eyebrow.
Find the natural spot for the eyebrows to end. Place the straight edge up against the left nostril. Angle the straight edge toward the outside corner of the eye. Find where the edge meets the eyebrow. Remove any hair that falls beyond the straight edge. Repeat the process for the right eyebrow.
Draw on eyebrows that have a natural shape. If the eyebrows are missing due to a medical condition, use the steps above to find the shape of the brow and then draw on the most natural brow shape possible.
If you lack the confidence to shape eyebrows yourself, see a facialist the first time. A facialist can help you find the natural shape of your eyebrows and you then can maintain the natural shape by tweezing.
Use tweezers with pointed or angled tips. They work best.
Never tweeze from the top of the eyebrow. You might accidentally alter it’s natural shape. Always tweeze underneath the eyebrow and follow the natural eyebrow arch line.
