Suffering with sweating is something that all women will face at some point in their life. Night sweats can begin before, after, or during menopause. When you have any excess sweating during the night this is called sweatings. Once you get older the body stops producing eggs which starts the menopause process. Menopause have many side effects that are uncomfortable for women. Some of these side effects are mood swings, depression, insomnia, and sweating. The treatment for sweating is the same for hot flashes as well. Anyone who has suffered night sweat or hot flashes know the uncomfortable effect it can have on your body. Most people assume that it simply feels like getting too hot, most women will disagree with this. You also should avoid any hot drinks, acidic foods, alcohol, and caffeine. Red meat and dairy products should also be avoided as much as possible.

You should also try to stay as stress free as possible. When suffering through mood swings this may be hard to do but try not to get angry. Also avoid things that will raises your body temperature such as hot weather, hot tubs, or taking very hot showers. You could even try taking a cool or cold shower right before bed to lower your body temperature. Try to control the temperature of your body as much as possible. If you need to sleep with a fan or air conditioner on then add an extra blanket for your spouse.

It is much easier for your spouse to get warm than it is for you to cool off while having night sweats. Make these changes in your lifestyle and you will see a difference. You may still suffer with sweatings but they will begin to become more tolerable. You should include healthy foods in your diet and get plenty of exercise as well. Also you may want to start taking vitamins on a regular basis. There are also many herbs available to help to control and reduce night sweats. Herbs are a natural and healthy way to treat menopausal symptoms.
