Touch Up Tired Looking Eyes

Touch Up Tired Looking Eyes

If you want to touch up your tired looking eyes effectively you really need to address the cause of your tired appearance. The following tips will show you how to address the most common causes of tired looking eyes.

Dark Circles

Dark circles are caused by several different things. They can be caused by a build up of toxin in the skin, a lack of sleep, stress, and even genetics. To solve the non-genetic causes of dark circles you need to cool the area and draw out the toxins. A chilled slice of potato is a great tool to use to accomplish both of these things. Simply thinly slice a potato and cool the pieces in the refrigerator until you need them. Then apply the slices to your eyes and allow them to stay there for 15 or 20 minutes. If you don’t have a potato you can also try slices of cucumber or a cool face mask.

If the cause of your dark circles is genetics then most likely the potato remedy is not going to work. To address your dark circles you area going to have to use a cosmetic remedy instead. Start by using a matte concealer to cover the dark circles. Then apply a highlighter next to your tear ducts and to the outside of your eyes. This will help to draw attention away from the dark circles.

Droopy Eyes

If your eyes look droopy then you can wake them up with these steps. First of all splash some cold water on your face. This will help to wake you up and it will help to perk up your eyes. Next use a firming cream with moisturizer to firm and lift the skin around your eyes. Finally apply a cool cucumber slice or a cool face mask to your eyes and allow them to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. This will help to reduce the puffiness around your eyes and it will also help to brighten up your eyes.

Puffiness

Another eye condition that makes your eyes look tired is puffiness. Puffy eyes can be caused by several things. First of all if you are waking up every morning with puffy eyes then you may want to consider changing your pillow, especially if it is a down pillow. Your puffiness may be caused by an allergic reaction to the fill material. The second cause of puffiness is an accumulation of fluid. To get rid of this type of puffiness a cool compress will usually work great.

Red Eye

The final eye condition that makes you look tired is red eye. Red eye can be caused by stress, eye strain, allergies, and dehydration. To get the red out you need to get to the root of the problem. If you have allergies then you may want to pick up some over-the-counter eye drops that have an antihistamine in it. Next you may want to use a cold pack to cool your eyes when you have had a long stressful day. This remedy is also great if you work with computers, or if you suffer from eye strain. Finally make sure that you drink plenty of water throughout the day. This will help you to prevent dehydration and red eye caused by dehydration.
